As Creative Director for Fire TV products, I manage a team of Designers, Researchers, and Technologists to define a vision for Amazon's presence in the living room. To execute against that vision, I help my team build coalitions with partners in business and engineering and together we ship products that customers love.
Fire TV began as a small yet powerful proposition: a tiny stick that plugs into your TV to enable video streaming and voice control. Now it is the highest rated product on Amazon.com and has grown into a device ecosystem and platform.
Cinematic & Content Forward
We launched a new OS in 2016 and our goal was to make a content forward experience that felt cinematic and easy to navigate. The home screen features a full bleed teaser window to show off new content with auto-playing videos. We also sought to strike a balance between fluid animations and performant interactions. The end result is a discovery experience that feels fresh and fast on all devices, including old hardware that shipped several years ago.
A large part of my role in the development of Fire TV OS was creating connective tissue between disparate organizations. Our offices and my design team are split across several campuses, so jumping in a room to solve a problem isn't always an option. Connecting with folks one on one is critical to my relationship building process as is taking the time to listen first in meetings before I share my point of view.
